CONDITIONS OF HIRE

LEGAL PROVISIONS
The Road Traffic Act 1960 and other statutory
provisions regulate the hiring of vehicles , it’s use
and the conveyance and behaviour of passengers.
The Hirer undertakes to comply with all laws and
regulations relating to contract operations.

|
USAGE
The vehicle must be used only by the Hirer any may
not be without the Company’s prior written consent.
The Hirer must also advise all the passengers in advance
of the Conditions of Carriage.

|
|
DRIVERS’ HOURS AND REST PERIODS
All regulations relating to the drivers’ hours
and rest periods must be complied with.
|
|
|
CHILDREN
Children are carried in accordance with the
provisions of relevant regulations.
|
|
|
LUGGAGE, EQUITMENT, PERSONAL BELONGINGS ETC.
There is room for reasonable amounts of baggage and equipment which will be
carried at the discretion of the driver. All items are carried at the
passenger’s risk and the Company will not be responsible for any loss
or damage however caused. It is the passengers responsibility to insure
their luggage , effects etc. against loss or damage.

CONDUCT ON VEHICLE AND DAMAGE
The driver is responsible for the safety of his
and passengers and must be allowed to decide
what conduct of behaviour is permissible in the
vehicle. Standing on the seats or on the roof is not
permitted and the Hirer will defray the cost of
making good any damage done to the vehicle by
passengers.

LOST PROPERTY
All articles are deposited at the Mayfair’s garage, to which all enquires
should be addressed. A Handling charge will be made for each item.

|
SEATING
No vehicle may carry any passenger excess of the authorised seating capscity.
|
|
|
ALTERATIONS
The Company accepts no responsibility for
the non-observance of any alterations to the
hiring arrangements unless agreed to and
confirmed in writing by the Company beforehand.

|
ROUTES AND TIMES
The shortest and most direct route in both
directions will be taken unless otherwise specified
and the Hirer will be liable for any extra time
incurred or mileage covered to meet a party’s
requirements , in addition to those quoted for.

|
VEHICLES
The Company reserves the right to substitute other operators’ vehicles for the journey , if necessary.
|
|
|
NOTICES
No unauthorised bill , poster or placard may be displayed on any vehicle.
|
|
|
NATIONAL EMERGENCY
In the event of a National Emergency , strike or for any reason beyond
the control of the Company, the Company reserves the right to cancel
any booking and refund any monies paid without further obligation.

|
CANCELLATION
In the event of cancellation of a hire by the
hirer the following scale of charges will apply:
A.- Cancellation without notification of
5 working days, full charge will be incurred.

|
RESPONSIBILITY
The Company does not guarantee to complete Any journey in any given time
and, apart from the cover conferred by the compulsory statutory insurance
against third party risks as required by Section 151 of the
Road Traffic Act 1960 and Section 148 of the Road Traffic Act 1972,
it does not accept responsibility for any loss , damage,
inconvenience , injury or death arising from any accident,
breakdown or delay attributable to reasons beyond the control of
the Company.

COMPLIANTS
Complaints regarding the company’s vehicles , drivers or officials or
concerning any matter relating to the contract should be made , in
writing within 14 days , to the address overleaf.

|
|
VARIATION OF CONDITONS OF HIRE
No agent or employee of Mayfair’s Coaches Ltd. ,nor any customer or hirer ,
is empowered to vary the Conditions of Hire in any way whatsoever. Any variation
will only be deemed binding upon the Company if confirmed in writing by the
Company and signed by the Company Secretary.
